Kept Kept Help
Made by Pine Pair.
Plain text, automatically saved to your Desktop.
Start writing
Press ⌘N for a new note. Kept Kept immediately creates a file named with today’s date, such as 20261014 Note.txt. Additional notes get a number. Typing saves automatically after a short pause.
Rename or move a note
Choose File → Rename to edit its name in the window’s title bar. Choose File → Move To to change its folder. Autosave follows the file.
Your files are yours
Notes are ordinary UTF-8 text files. Open them in any text editor. Existing files opened with ⌘O save in their original folder. If Desktop is synced through iCloud Drive, macOS may sync your notes too.
If saving fails
Keep the note open. Press ⌘S to retry. Check folder permissions, free disk space, and whether the folder is available. If needed, copy your text to another safe location before closing. Allow Desktop access in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Files and Folders.
Keyboard shortcuts
⌘O Open · ⌘S Save · ⌘F Find · ⌘Z Undo · ⇧⌘Z Redo · ⌘W Close.
Updates and privacy
Kept Kept checks for and installs app updates with Sparkle. Choose Kept Kept → Check for Updates… to check manually. Update checks contact Kept Kept’s configured feed; the app has no accounts or analytics.
